McHenry County Deputy Zane Seipler under siege, Again!!

Deputy Zane Seipler

Deputy Zane Seipler

McHenry County Sheriff Keith Nygren is acting out against one of his own, Again. Deputy Zane Seipler was terminated from his position more than four years ago, and Nygren was forced to reinstate him a little over a year ago. Nygren fired Seipler in retaliation for exposing the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department for Racial Profiling. This is the exact kind of behavior that I alluded to in my previous blog McHenry Deputies and MURDER IN MCHENRY. If we as citizens are forced to deal with bad police practices and corruption; it would be just as bad if not worse for some of the deputies there that don’t play ball. Let’s look back how Deputy Zane Seipler broke the unwritten (this is an unwritten rule among officers not to report on another colleague’s errors, misconducts, or crimes).

In 2007 Deputy Seipler overheard deputies talking about targeting Latinos on their patrols in hopes of catching unlicensed immigrants. The culture at the time for these deputies was promotions for writing more tickets. Seipler brought this to the attention of the sheriff’s department’s higher ups in hopes of them addressing the issue at the department level. This never happened. Deputy Seipler felt there was no other choice but to have this addressed outside of the department and reported the issue to state police and the FBI.

Prior to this escalation, Seipler has been with the Department for three years, was a member of the SWAT Team, and a Training Officer for Defensive Tactics. If you don’t know what a SWAT Team is, it is an elite police force. Members are highly skilled officers, highly disciplined and motivated in training, professional conduct, and mission execution. Training Officers are selected for their mastery of a skill or skills, their abilities to break down strategies to tactics, and for their ability to instruct and demonstrate. As a US Marine I have a strong appreciation for all of these requirements, and it is understood why he was seen by many as a rising star.

Within a year from reporting the department’s Racial Profiling, he was demoted from the SWAT Team and from the position of a Training Officer, and he was placed on leave for falsifying two traffic tickets. He took ownership of his wrong doing and cited in each case that he was trying to give a young driver a break for a minor traffic infraction. Deputy Zane Seipler was terminated by Sheriff Nygren for these two tickets. This was despite a previous incident of another deputy, who had falsely cited drivers for lack of insurance rather than speeding tickets, he was suspended for only three days.

Now a citizen, Zane Seipler, fought back by taking this to arbitration. The arbitrator’s ruling was that the punishment was excessive and Seipler won the arbitration. Sheriff Nygren appealed the decision. He took it to the Circuit Court and the Circuit Court upheld the arbitrator’s decision. Sheriff Nygren neither satisfied nor stingy with the taxpayer’s money, appealed to the Appellate Court and the appellate court upheld the previous two decisions. Nygren lost all three legal rounds, so Seipler was hired back as a Deputy for McHenry County. No….Not Quite.

Despite the three legal rulings to hire Seipler back, Sheriff Nygren chose to petition the Illinois Supreme Court. Mind you this was over two traffic citations that Seipler took responsibility for, and taxpayers are paying for this. Why would any responsible elected official pursue a petition to the Illinois Supreme Court for two traffic tickets unless they were narcissistic?

Here is the description of narcissism: Persons diagnosed with a Narcissistic Personality Disorder are characterized by unwarranted feelings of self-importance. They have a sense of entitlement and demonstrate grandiosity in their beliefs and behavior. They have a strong need for admiration, but lack feelings of empathy for others. These qualities are usually defenses against a deep feeling of inferiority and of being unloved.Xổ số miền bắc trực tiếp How dangerous does this sound for a person who is required to wear a side arm at the hip, not to mention who is a sheriff and is in charge of many that are also required to wear a side arm. THINK ABOUT IT!!!! Remember this definition, and that Sheriff Keith Nygren wears this definition like a glove; it will make some of my future blogs more understandable.

The petition was made to the Illinois Supreme Court, and thankfully for the taxpayers of McHenry County and Zane Seipler and his family the Illinois Supreme Court refused to consider the petition. At this point even the Grandiose Sheriff Keith Nygren had to bring Zane Seipler back as a Deputy.

Xổ số miền bắc trực tiếpThis was all good news, but Deputy Seipler was now entitled to receive four years of back pay (yes, Nygren carried this on for FOUR YEARS!!). Though no fault of his own, the community did not get any service from Deputy Seipler for the four years of back-pay. The McHenry County citizens paid for a Sheriff’s self-indulgence and his tirade. This was a demonstration to all of the other deputies that you better fall in line or face an inquisition of no parameters or boundaries. How about the stress that this caused Zane’s wife and kids? Would your relationship with your family be able to stand up to the Sheriff’s personal siege? How would you handle your finances if you lost income for four years and had to fight a court battle that almost goes to the Illinois Supreme Court?

Now, after being back on the job for more than a year, Deputy Zane Seipler finds himself once again being terminated at the hands of the self indulgent and over bloated ego of Sheriff Keith Nygren. This is over a technicality that aroused from the many hearings in this case. This termination is so feeble, that even the Sheriff’s own attorney expects this termination’s outcome to be much like the first.

Xổ số miền bắc trực tiếpAllow all of this to resonate for a moment. I know that this is all very unbelievable, but it is the current state of the Sheriff’s Department. Now does it make sense why I have to battle with the Sheriff’s Department to get the case file to my father’s murder?  This is a murder that took place over 32 years ago, where the murderer has already been named and all others are now dead. Are you prepared for this group to handle your family’s tragedy? Do you feel served and protected as a citizen of McHenry County? How about voting for Nygren’s appointed protégé Undersheriff Andrew Zinke for McHenry County Sheriff in 2014?

I would like to thank Deputy Zane Seipler for his service, and for his courage to talk about the corruption of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department, even at the great peril of himself and his family. I don’t admire your position, but I do admire your unselfishness to serve and your character; and isn’t that what we are left with when stripped of everything else, our character?  If that is so Zane Seipler, you are a very wealthy man.

I have put together some of the articles that I have written that are prevalent for the upcoming election in MARCH!. This is the Republican Nominee election but probably more important than the general election. It is most likely the winner in March will win in November and become sheriff. If you review the articles in the Knowledge Center, you will read all kinds of unbelievable things as it relates to this election.

My mother and father, Ron and Kathy Scharff, 1969.

Freedom of Information Act Appeal to get the remainder of my father’s file. In my efforts to get to the bottom of my father’s murder and what the McHenry County Sheriff’s office has done to me and my family 33 years ago. I filed a FOIA Request (Freedom of Information Act Request) to get my father’s case file. Many documents were withheld from my request. It is my believe the documents are withheld to protect guilty individuals that are known to Sheriff Keith Nygren and Undersheriff Andrew Zinke that covered up who actually killed my father during the original investigation. Start on page 11 to read what sounds like a murder mystery thriller, but this is my true life. It is backed by FBI reports, witness statements, and newspaper articles.

Undersheriff Andrew Zinke and the Rita Corporation on RT 31Andrew Zinke for McHenry County Sheriff, Really???Xổ số miền bắc trực tiếp This article is based on my own father’s murder investigation and Undersheriff Andrew Zinke. I talked about how he made his own milestones and failed to meet every single one. How it took me calling NBC News Chicago to get Andrew Zinke to return my phone call about my father’s murder investigation, as he was the lead investigator. I am fighting to get the remainder of my father’s case file. It is my believe that Undersheriff Andrew Zinke and the Sheriff Keith Nygren are hiding and protecting individuals that covered up the true killer of my father during the original investigation.

Undersheriff Andrew Zinke and the Rita Corporation on RT 31Andrew Zinke plus Rita Corporation equals ON THE TAKE Brian Goode and his RITA Corporation was a person of interest and focal point for the investigation of the distribution of 30 plus tons of marijuana. Undersheriff Andrew Zinke told Brian Goode of the investigation. Two days later, according to Koziol, (Sgt. Koziol was working on the investigation and filed a complaint against Zinke) Goode gave Zinke’s election campaign a $5,000 donation. The RITA Corporation address is the same address as Andrew Zinke’s campaign headquarters.

Deputy Zane SeiplerMcHenry County Deputy Zane Seipler under siege, Again!!Xổ số miền bắc trực tiếp Zane Seipler is a whistleblowing deputy that was fired by Keith Nygren after he exposed the sheriff’s office for racial profiling. Nygren was forced to hire Seipler back after he lost an arbitration ruling, a court hearing, an appellate court hearing, and a failed attempt to be heard by the Illinois State Supreme Court. After Seipler was hired back, Nygren fired him again. Zane Seipler is currently fighting to get his job back.

Deputy Scott Milliman in uniform.

Another McHenry County Deputy under siege, Scott MillimanXổ số miền bắc trực tiếp Scott Milliman was a deputy and former right hand man to Sheriff Keith Nygren. He was fired by the sheriff for whistleblowing that the sheriff allegedly transacted in ticket fixing, bribery, general corruption, fraud in a SBA Loan, and in tapping Milliman himself to kill a McHenry County Judge and a Coroner’s Candidate. Scott Milliman is currently fighting to get his job back.

Gary Gauger, of Richmond, was wrongly convicted of murdering his parents in 1993 and sentenced to death. After years in prison his sentence was overturned and two gang members were later convicted of the murders. Gauger is released a book detailing the event called IN SPITE OF THE SYSTEM. (Ryan Rayburn photo)

How Gary Gauger got to DEATH ROW This is the real life, tragic story of Gary Gauger. He was falsely arrested and sent to Death Row by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department for the double murder of his parents. Investigators from the sheriff’s department rigged a false confession so that they could convict him.

Undersheriff Andrew Zinke giving Cal Skinner the finger at the 4th of July Parade in Crystal Lake, IL.

McHenry County Ethics Commission, Ethical or NOT!?!? The McHenry County Ethics Commission conducted a hearing of a complaint filed by Cal Skinner that Undersheriff Andrew Zinke used a government computer for a very politically charged email. The hearing was ran over by Zinke’s attorneys Mark Gummerson and Rebecca Lee. The sign up sheet to speak at the hearing went missing but found in the possession of Rebecca Lee. The commission went into secret session, made its decision, and did so without explanation.

Pete Gonigam, publisher of the First Electric Newspaper.

First Electric Newspaper v.s. Sheriff Nygren and EEO Officer Donald LeistXổ số miền bắc trực tiếp Pete Gonigam won a Public Access Bureau (Illinois States Attorney) appeal for the release of a 100 page report conducted by the McHenry County Sheriff’s office. The report exonerated Undersheriff Andrew Zinke after he told Brian Goode that he and his RITA Corporation was a the focal point of a drug investigation by the DEA.

Undersheriff Andrew Zinke giving Cal Skinner the finger at the 4th of July Parade in Crystal Lake, IL.

Zinke’s middle finger may cost Cal Skinner $5,000 After filing a valid ethics complaint against Undersheriff Andrew Zinke for using a government computer for his campaign, Cal Skinner was to face Zinke’s attorney Mark Gummerson. Gummerson was lobbying for a $5,000 fine against Skinner filing a valid complaint. An act of bulling and intimidation of a McHenry County citizen.

Will McHenry County be Ripped Off by Special Interest in Sheriff Election? I question the interest and the contribution to Undersheriff Andrew Zinke’s campaign from the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 150 election. I send a letter to the President-Business Manager of the union James M. Sweeney.

Undersheriff Andrew Zinke Shuts Down Cal Skinner’s Blog Site Xổ số miền bắc trực tiếpUndersheriff Andrew Zinke’s campaign was able to get Cal Skinner’s website, mchenrycountyblog.com shut down by falsely accusing him of stalking and linking to obscene material. Read here on how Zinke’s campaign resorts to breaking the law to silence a citizen’s voice.

Zinke-looking-right-eyes-at-cameraAndrew Zinke Fearful to Debate Bill Prim Lies to Get Out of It.Xổ số miền bắc trực tiếp Undersheriff Andrew Zinke is so fearful to debate Bill Prim for McHenry County Sheriff that he lies to get out of it. Zinke knows that he would be out matched, outwitted, and the truth of his corrupt character would be revealed to the citizens of McHenry County. Instead of enduring such damage to his campaign he lies to coward out of it.

Xổ số miền bắc trực tiếpHey Keith “Let’s Make a Deal” Is on TV at 9:00AM and “The Price is Right” is on at 10:00AM. Channel 2 CBS…….I hear they are your favorite daytime TV shows………Sure wish I could play……..Sell any land next to the Court House lately? Or, a long time ago? Gee who bought that land? The tax payers will soon know the answer to that question. Will be seen soon at a Mchenry County Government Theater near you..

Where are your priorities Keith Nygren. I have personally met Zane. All he wants is fairness and justice for all. He is an ethical guy determined to do the right thing…When I heard him talk about certain improprieties within your department, I thought now this is really refreshing, a Police Officer with honesty and hatred for injustice and corruption……He clearly wasn’t willing to put up with wrongful arrest, wrongful convictions at any price……Don’t let that door hit you, in the you know what, when you retire Keith….Please don’t get any ideas for that Undersheriff of your’s Any Zinke, because the tax payers have had enough of the likes of both of you….His latest demonstration of giving the fine folks of Mchenry County the “FINGER’ at a parade, is a “PUBLIC RELATIONS CATASTROPHE” Say no to corruption and YES to Bill Prim…………….

  • Really? says:

There’s a bit more to Zane than what you report here. You failed to note that he wasn’t just giving these drivers a break, he cited their passengers for made up violations. Now, I have read some blogs that have shed some more details–such as these drivers being Hispanic while the passenger’s were Anglo. This situation, logically, brings one to ponder if these incidents weren’t some form of reverse racism.

Xổ số miền bắc trực tiếpThe previous deputy you mention was certainly wrong and deserved punishment–but apples are apples and oranges are oranges. The other deputy, at least, cited the offending party–although the deputy charged the wrong violation. Zane not only cited an innocent party with a fictitious charge, but let the offender go with no sanction. That seems, in my humble opinion, to strongly differentiate the precedent from Zane’s case. The question comes down to how a court of law can work based on Zane’s history…

Xổ số miền bắc trực tiếpThere are a few fatal vices that should, rightfully so, lead to termination of a municipal law enforcement officer– drug abuse, domestic abuse, serious civil rights violations and lying. We, as a society, almost expect and tolerate lying (ala the little white lies), but officers shouldn’t have that luxury–it serves to cripple the already embattled Criminal Justice System. Let’s face it, if there’s a court case with a defendant on one side and an officer on the other–we all SHOULD be predisposed to believe the officer. A tarnished sense of ethics and a documented liar makes that premise impossible…

Thank you for your comments. My point of the articles that I write is to highlight the relevant facts that are in the public domain. It is only an article, not a play by play and my articles are already longer than I like them to be. Zane was wrong for adjusting those two tickets and admitted to be wrong and took responsibility for them. I noted him for being wrong and for correcting himself. Now you contend that the other Deputies actions were not similar to Zane’s, I obviously disagree with that; but more importantly three legal rulings did as well. That was the basis for him getting his job back in those three rulings. All the same, that is what the comment section is for and I appreciate you stopping by and posting a comment. I hope that you continue to do so and thanks again for participating, I really appreciate it… Paul
